We’re sorry to say that from 1 July 2021 we will be temporarily (we hope…) suspending straightforward store sales to our friends in EU countries.
Please contact us if you would like to place an order for delivery to the EU (see below for why this more complex ordering mechanism is necessary).
From the 1st July, as the UK / EU reach the end of the transition arrangement, and with new EU VAT rules being applied from that date, we will have to make new arrangements to register to remit variable rates of VAT in each different EU country that we sell to. This will take time and may ultimately be a financial and administrative cost that we cannot afford to bear here in the Archive’s own online store.
We’re truly saddened and know that this will be disappointing for our good friends and customers across much of Europe, although we hope we can be up and running again at some point in the near future as we work through the new requirements.
We are also exploring other options available to us including sales via other platforms, such as Amazon and eBay, and hope to restore store sales in this way, as we become able to.
In addition, please do contact us if you would like to place a special order for delivery to the EU. This will involve creation of an individual invoice for your order, with all local customs, duties and VAT costs to be paid in advance where required.
Our book sales via Amazon marketplaces in the EU will continue, although prices will sadly rise to accommodate local rates of VAT.
For book sales to the Republic of Ireland: please contact us for direct orders (or place an order via Amazon UK) as ROI continues to share with the UK a zero-rating for VAT on books.
